Traditional Nihon Jujutsu
Practiced by the ancient samurai, Jujutsu is a martial art that emphasizes using an opponent’s force against them, promoting efficiency in combat. Originating in Japan, Jujutsu’s history and evolution date back to the samurai warriors who developed it for close combat on the battlefield.

There are countless variations of this art, which produced a wide diversity of techniques. Jujutsu is a grappling martial art focused on using off-balancing your opponent to gain personal advantage. Techniques include throwing, leg sweeps, trapping, pins, joint locks, strangulation, disengagement, and striking.
Our Jujutsu is non-competitive and practiced in our curriculum. It is not taught as a separate art but rather as an auxiliary art to improve our understanding of movements within weaponry. The techniques themselves are based on ancient traditions developed to prevent the samurai from being disarmed and defeated at close combat ranges.
